This is the documentation for Enlighten.

1. Open the level

For this tutorial, we'll use the level Tutorial_Second. This is the same level used in previous tutorials, but with all Enlighten settings reset to the default.

As you work through this tutorial, save your progress regularly (File > Save All).

  1. In the Content Browser, in Enlighten > Maps,open the level Tutorial_Second.

    Unreal Editor opens the level.

    As the level contains sun and sky light sources, but we haven't run the Enlighten precompute yet, the indirect lighting appears flat. Everything is uniformly lit by either the sun or the unshadowed sky.
    Before we run the precompute, we'll configure the level to best use Enlighten.

    A warning may show up "Repaired painted vertex colors in 0.0s for 2 components in /Game/Enlighten/Maps/Tutorial_Second. Resave map to fix.".

    We can safely ignore it.
